Refund Policy

The short version

Cancel anytime. Annual subscriptions get a 30-day money-back guarantee on the most recent payment. The free tier never expires — if Pro isn't for you, just drop back down.

1. Cancellation — anytime, no friction

You can cancel your Pro or Founding Member subscription at any time from Settings → Billing inside your Memreader account. Cancellation is immediate and takes one click. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the billing period you already paid for; after that, your account returns to the free tier. Your books, highlights, flashcards, and review history all stay safe — you keep access to them on the free tier (subject to the free tier's 3-book and 50-card limits for adding new content).

2. 30-day money-back guarantee on annual

Annual subscriptions (Pro Annual and Founding Member) come with a 30-day money-back guarantee on your most recent annual payment. If at any point in the first 30 days you decide Memreader isn't right for you, email support@memreader.com and we will refund the annual amount in full — no questions, no justification required. After 30 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable, but you can still cancel any time to prevent the next renewal.

3. Monthly subscriptions

Monthly Pro subscriptions are non-refundable. Because they renew every 30 days and can be cancelled in one click, the best way to stop being charged is simply to cancel before the next renewal — your Pro features stay active until the period ends. If you were charged after you cancelled (a billing bug on our side), email us and we will refund it immediately.

4. Founding Member specifics

The Founding Member rate of $49/year is locked for you as long as your subscription stays continuously active. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies to your first annual payment. If you cancel and later wish to rejoin, the Founding Member offer may no longer be available (especially after the first 200 spots are filled), in which case you can subscribe at the then-current Pro Annual rate.

5. How to request a refund

Email support@memreader.com from the email address associated with your subscription. Include:
  • · Your Paddle order number or transaction ID (from your receipt email), if you have it
  • · Optionally, a sentence on what didn't work — we read every one, and it helps us improve the product

You do not need to give a reason. We process refund requests within 2 business days. Once approved, Paddle (our merchant of record) issues the refund to your original payment method; depending on your bank, the refunded amount typically appears in your account within 5–10 business days.

6. Free tier

The free tier requires no payment, so there is nothing to refund. If you cancel a paid subscription, you automatically drop to the free tier — no charge, no further action needed. Your existing content stays with you.

7. Chargebacks

Please email us before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer. Chargebacks cost us money in fees and can harm our merchant standing, and we can almost always resolve the underlying issue faster by email. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in your account being suspended.
